This year's Venison for Manna program came to a close with the presenation of a $500 Gift Certificate to Jay's Sporting Goods to Lynn Pearson from Harbor Springs. The program, which encourages hunters to donate a portion of thier harvest to the Manna Food Project generated over 2,100 lbs of vension this year and has generated over 11 tons of meat since the program started. The protein is distributed to over 35 food pantries and meal programs from Mackinaw City to Mancelona. Special thanks to our area processors that serve as the collection point for the program. Petoskey Rotary Sunrise donates button maker to Petoskey District Libary Makers-Space. The 3" machine will serve multiple purposes. It will add another size to the Makers-Space (1", 2" and now 3") for all to use.... and, our club will use the machine to make our own name badges as our supplier has discontinued the product we've been using. On Tuesday September 12, Sunrise Rotary held its meeting at the Little Traverse Bay History Museum. The field trip was coordinated by club member Matt Hausler who is a member of the Little Traverse Historical Society's Board of Directors. Thirty club members attended the special meeting which included a message about the museum and then guided tours for the club members.
Club members of the Petoskey Sunrise Rotary Club and the Odawa Casino donate $4,000. to the Marty Van De Car Memorial Scholarship Fund.
A super fun night of celebration. Thanking the club for another outstanding year (yes.. we brag once in a while!) and recognizing all the cool people and "stuff" together we accomplished for others.
