Camp Daggett Painting Prep
May 12, 2001

Camp Daggett, a local camp on Walloon lake, needed a building scrapped and painted. Ten Rotary members came out on Saturday morning to get started - scraping the loose paint off.

Here Bill Brower and Bill Blackburn (in back) scrape some of the many windows of the building.

Mark Hilal (on ladder), Hob Ingleson and his son Cade (on scaffolding) help out.

Cade Ingelson was the youngest helper - we start them early in this club!

Fred DeWitt made sure the eves we free of loose paint.

Then Harry Oom came along with a power washer and showed all the rest of the scrappers up.

Since Harry was doing such a great job, Bill and Bill decided they would supervise. "Over here Harry. You missed a spot!"

Then everyone wanted to try it out. Rod Niswander used a storage shed for a higher vantage as Harry, John Johnson, Hob and Bill watched.

So much for the scrapping that some of us did - the power washer went back and assured the job was done well. As Bill power washes, others look on.

As the mornings activities came to a close, Hob got a chance to complete the washing. Next - the painting.

Not shown on any of the photos, were Jim Shirilla and Gene Klco (taking pictures).

May 24, 2001 - Windows caulked - trim caulking

A group came out and caulked the windows and primed the bare wood.

Then on May 24th, Bill Blackburn and ...

... Gene Klco came out and cleaned up the caulk around the windows - making everything ready for paint.

After the caulking was complete, Bill went to check on the handicap ramp project the club did a year ago.

The sign at the base of the ramp tells the story:
"Barrier-Free Ramp
made possible by:
Sunrise Rotary Club of Petoskey...
" and others.
