Petoskey Festival on the Bay
August 16
th

Petoskey had their 1st 'Festival on the Bay', and we were there.

T
he morning started out early (6 am) with our helping the Noon Club with their pancake breakfast. After the setup was finished & the sun came up, the servers were ready for the crowds. Here Dan Rasmussen, Jim Kan & Julie Jarema (from the Noon Club) are ready.

Mark Hilal flips pancakes with Derrick Rasmussen helping - plate ready.

In the afternoon, we moved to our own tent & setup for business selling burgers & chicken sandwiches as well as Sno-Kones.

Mark Potter (bending over), Jim Kan, Matt Keene, Mark Hilal & Benjamin Potter are ready for customers.

Joe Kuhn & Mark did a lot of the cooking.

Were ready with happy faces - bring on the customers. Jim Kan, Mark Hilal & Mark Potter wait to be of service.

We got help from many members - including a visiting Rotarian - Jania Taylor from Archibald, OH. Mark Hilal made sure she had beads to enhance her smile.

Jania Taylor took on the daunting task of Sno-Kones or was the challenge to get the syrup on the sno-cone and not all over yourself?

The second wave of workers came in - here ready to serve were Del Ingalls & Gene Klco.

And as the day progressed, a third group of volunteers took over - with Bill Blackburn on the Sno-Kones.

And the rest of the crew - Jerry VanSlembrouck, Dave Meyer, Jim Kan, John Johnson & Sarah Blackburn - held down the crowds until late at night.

Thanks to all who helped: Mark Hilal, Rod Niswander, Jim Kan, Gene & Gina Klco, Brian Ludlow, Del Ingals, Dan & Derrick Rasmussen, Bryan Klawuhn, Joe Kuhn, Mark & Benjamin Potter, Matt Keene, Jania Taylor, Bill & Sarah Blackburn, Dave Meyer, John Johnson & Jerry VanSlembrouck.
