Rotary
Visit to Camp Daggett|
Indoor Adventure
Center - Feb. 15, 2003
On a cold, sunny winter day,
the Rotary Club of Petoskey-Sunrise ventured to Camp Daggett
to try out their newly opened Indoor Adventure Center.
After everyone arrived, Brent
Marlette, our host, had us assemble in a circle for the first
exercise.
With not much finger pointing,
each person had to remove their finger from their neighbor's
hand on the word "GO".
Then we held hands and
passed a hoop around the circle without letting go of your neighbor's
hand.
Com'on Dave, you can do it!
Now if Mark can get his foot
into it, we can finish this thing with a fast time.
After the hoop thing, we paired
up and received a foam stick - with the challenge to swat your
partner below the knee - walking only!
Then the pairs got together
& locked arms to team up for the swatting of another team.
The pairing was harder &
required 'teamwork' - what a surprise!
Next we tacked a more sedate
project: with the group broken up into 5 teams, we were given
a bad of plumbing tubing and fittings. Each team had to design
& build a basketball trophy - tall was good - with a basketball
theme.
Mark had a question:
"What are we doing again?"
Brent discusses with this team
the design of their trophy.
All teams talked about their
design and construction challenges. What went well and what didn't.
